More food coupled with less activity is the root cause for the alarming growth of life style diseases like hypertension and most cardiovascular diseases. The diseases associated with obesity and hypertension are diabetes mellitus and chronic kidney diseases.

Obesity, especially at the middle part of the body is considered extremely dangerous. Body fat around the hips is really going to make a patient with high blood pressure. Alternatively a high BMI for instance above 25 is another factor that results in high blood pressure.
